Qatar Charity has launched ‘Sudan Appeal’ campaign to assist people affected by the ongoing war in Sudan.

Sudan is currently experiencing one of the world’s worst displacement crises, with over 11 million refugees and displaced persons, while two million people have sought refuge in neighbouring countries.

By the end of 2024, 17 million people may be at risk of famine and severe malnutrition threatens 4.6 million children across various Sudanese regions.

The ‘Sudan Appeal’ campaign aims to provide food baskets, clean drinking water, sanitation facilities, healthcare services and shelter tents. The campaign is expected to benefit over one million persons.

The campaign aims to provide food baskets containing essential food items to 550,000 people to meet the needs of affected families, thereby addressing hunger among displaced children and families. Many areas in Sudan suffer from severe shortages of clean drinking water. The campaign is working to provide safe drinking water to save the lives of 400,000 children and affected families.

Mobile sanitation units will be provided for 200,000 people in affected areas to prevent disease outbreaks, ensuring easy access for displaced persons, taking into consideration those with special needs and elderly individuals.

Given the crisis’s escalation, Qatar Charity is working to provide healthcare and treatment for 200,000 patients, alongside improving healthcare services in different regions. The campaign plans to provide shelter tents for 250,000 affected individuals to restore a sense of security and stability for displaced families.

Qatar Charity has helped Sudan in various areas, including comprehensive relief, food supply, healthcare, water and sanitation. Approximately 400,000 people have benefited from these projects across different regions.

Qatar Charity invites people, citizens and residents to donate to the campaign through its website https://qch.qa/so-e, mobile application and various digital platforms.Donations can also be made via home collectors, who automatically locate the donor through the application, or by contacting the call centre at 44920000.
