Doha

This week, Generation Amazing Foundation (GA) young leaders and delegates from Qatar, Pakistan, India, and Senegal will be traveling to Lyon and Paris to join Festival 24, an international solidarity youth festival held on the sidelines of the Paris 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, taking place from July 19th – 28th in Lyon and Paris.

Under the theme ‘United by Sport’, the Festival unites over 500 youth from 36 countries across the world. As a proud partner and sponsor of the Festival, Generation Amazing is continuing its legacy of harnessing the transformative power of sport and mega sporting events to empower youth and promote a more equitable and inclusive world.

Organised by Sport Dans La Ville, the Festival will feature programmes and panels based around promoting social and professional integration through sport and will immerse attendees in enriching cultural experiences

As a leading sponsor of the programme – alongside the European Union, the French Ministry of Sports and the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and Visa – GA has organised delegations of youth from Right to Play in Pakistan, Slum Soccer in India, and Forca Foundation in Senegal along with young leaders from Qatar to participate in the Festival. They will lead and attend creative workshops, partake in inclusive sporting events, join panels and conferences on inclusivity through sports, and attend the Olympics opening ceremony.In addition, the young leaders from Qatar will join policymakers, athletes, GA leadership, and other distinguished figures from around the world to discuss sport as a tool for social and professional inclusion as well as gender equality at the United by Sport Forum, taking place on July 25 in Paris.

The Paris 2024 Olympics represents a pivotal moment for Generation Amazing as it expands programming from football for development to sports for development.

Lyon

• July 22, from 9:30-12:30: Festival Games

• July 22, at 21:00: Festival Opening Ceremony: Soirée Solidaire aux Nuits de Fourviere - a breathtaking opening ceremony at the old Roman theatre on the hilltops of Lyon. Mourad Merzouki, a renown choreographer, the creator of the official dance of the Paris 2024 Olympics, will bring on stage his best dancers for a spectacular evening of dance performance.

• July 23, from 9:30-12:30 and 2-6pm: Olympic and Paralympic inclusive Activities, GA Youth Leaders from Qatar will deliver a workshop on football and inclusivity. Throughout the day, the delegates will be able to discover around 20 different Olympic and Paralympic activities: Breakdance, Climbing, Rugby, Volleyball and many more!

• July 23, evening: Cultural Performances, On the evening of July 23rd and July 25th, selected festival delegations will have the opportunity to put on a cultural performance for their fellow festival participants, representing their country through music, dance, video, spoken word etc.

Paris

• July 25, 9am – 5pm: The United by Sports Forum, taking place at Jardin D’Acclimatation, Paris. This event will bring together key players,policymakers, athletes, GA leadership, and other distinguished figures from around the world to discuss sport as a tool for social and professional inclusion as well as gender equality.

The Forum will reflect on the role of sport in social inclusion, to share best practices, create new alliances, and strengthen their support and ambitions in this area. The forum will also highlight the individuals and organizations that make a significant impact.

• July 27, 9:30 – 17:30: Olympic and Paralympic inclusive Activities, The delegations will be able to discover around 20 different Olympic and Paralympic activities: Boccia, Breakdance, Climbing, Rugby, Volleyball and many more!

• July 27, 20:30-22:30: Closing Ceremony
