MUSCAT: The Maritime Security Center in the Sultanate of Oman has announced the rescue of nine crew members of the oil tanker that capsized 25 nautical miles southeast of Ras Madrakah in Duqm.

The centreadded that the nine people were found alive, while one person was found deceased, indicating that search and rescue operations are still continuing for the remaining members of the ship's crew.

The Omani authorities on Monday announced the capsize of an oil tanker flying the flag of the United Comoros, and activated search and rescue operations, in coordination with the relevant authorities.
