DOHA: The Ministry of Interior has announced the arrest of 8 people of different nationalities after they attempted to smuggle a quantity of gold out of the country.
The MoI posted a video on its official account on the X platform, showing the live scenes of the efforts of the Criminal Investigation Department, during the operation.According to the video, a report was received by the National Command Center that 8 people were melting gold in a house they had designated for that purpose and trying to smuggle it out of the country through customs.
The video shows the Criminal Investigation patrols monitoring and coordinating to arrest them. Some of them were arrested at Hamad International Airport, others during a house raid, and some of them during the stopping of a car carrying some individuals.
The operation showed a high level of coordination to bring down this criminal group at the same time and quickly.
