The Ministry of Labour (MoL), in collaboration with Ministry of Public Health and Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS), on Thursday conducted an awareness workshop for motorcycle drivers in delivery companies to introduce them to the ministry’s e-services, raise their awareness of preventing workplace injuries and heat stress, and enhance their road safety awareness.

The workshop comes as part of the Ministry of Labour’s efforts, in collaboration with partners, to raise awareness among delivery drivers of the need to adhere to the safe driving guidelines and rules, use the right lane of the road and follow the necessary rules to prevent work injuries and heat-related diseases.

During the session, representatives from the Ministry of Labour, the Ministry of Public Health and Qatar Red Crescent Society taught the workers how utilise the Ministry of Labour’s e-services, emphasised the new services launched by the ministry and stressed the importance of following traffic rules and driving safely in all types of road areas.

The drivers were also given answers to their queries and taught on preventing heat stress risks and proper first aid techniques for injuries both at work and in homes.

The course is one of several awareness seminars and workshops conducted by the Ministry of Labour as part of the ‘Towards a Safe Work Environment’ campaign. Its goal is to enhance workers’ awareness on preventing work injuries, meeting occupational safety and health standards, and enhancing traffic safety in the country.
