Republican US presidential candidate Donald Trump has responded to Joe Biden’s withdrawal from the race for the White House with numerous accusations against the Democrat.
"Crooked Joe Biden was not fit to run for President, and is certainly not fit to serve - And never was!” wrote the former president on his online platform Truth Social. "He only attained the position of President by lies, Fake News, and not leaving his Basement,” Trump wrote.
Trump also accused people close to Biden, as well as his doctor and the media, of knowing that Biden "wasn’t capable of being President.” In the rest of his statement, the Republican resorted to his usual incendiary campaign rhetoric on the issue of immigration. Trump, who is 78, frequently went after 81-year-old Biden’s age and mental fitness on the campaign trail. (DPA)
