The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with Al Abdulghani Motors, Qatar’s Lexus and Toyota dealership, has announced the recall of several Lexus models (LX, RX, IS, UX, NX350, and LS) and the Toyota Crown, 2023 model. The recall is due to a potential defect in the front and rear-view cameras, which may result in the image not being displayed.

Additionally, the MoCI, in cooperation with Alfardan Premier Motors, Qatar’s LAND ROVER dealership, has recalled Land Rover Defender 110 3.0i6 HSE 400PS, Discovery 2.0i4 R-Dynamic S, Range Rover Vogue 3.0 V6 SC, Range Rover Sport 3.0i6 HSE, and Range Rover Velar 2.0 R-Dynamic SE, 2024-2025 models. The recall is due to the possibility of cracks developing in the oil filter housing over time if incorrect specifications were used during its manufacture, which could result in oil leaking into the engine and engine bay, potentially causing a fire. Additionally, the oil leakage could pose a slipping hazard for other road users.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, in cooperation with Al Fardan Automobiles, Qatar’s BMW dealership, has announced the recall of BMW i7 xDrive 60 Saloon M Sports and i7 M70 xDrive Saloon, 2023 model. This recall is due to the detection of rubbing against the surface of the high-voltage cable, which causes a drive system warning message display on the instrument cluster.

The ministry said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.

The ministry said it would coordinate with the dealer to follow up on the maintenance and repair works and communicate with customers to ensure that the necessary repairs are carried out.

The ministry has urged all customers to report any violations to its Consumer Protection and Anti-Commercial Fraud Department, which processes complaints, inquires and suggestions through the following channels: Call Centre: 16001; Email: [email protected]; social media channels: @mociqatar; and mobile application: MOCIQatar.
