DOHA: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has received Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan HE Dr Ayman Safadi, who is currently visiting the country.

They reviewed the cooperation between the two countries and ways to support and develop them and discussed the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories, and the latest developments in the joint mediation efforts to end the war. They stressed the need to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire in the Strip and formulate an effective international position to stop the illegal Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, which undermine the two-state solution and the chances of achieving a just and comprehensive peace.

The meeting also discussed cooperation between the two countries in confronting the humanitarian disaster in the Gaza Strip, ways to bring in aid through the Jordanian route, and efforts to reduce regional escalation.

The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of Jordan, affirmed the support of Qatar and Jordan for the security and stability of Lebanon and stressed the need to adhere to Resolution 1701.

The Prime Minister expressed Qatar's appreciation for the role of Jordan in bringing humanitarian aid into Gaza through the Jordanian route.

For his part, the Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates renewed his country's support for the efforts made by Qatar, the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America to reach a permanent ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

He also thanked Qatar for the care it gives to Jordanians working and residing in it.
