The Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF), an apex body under the aegis of the Embassy of India, organised a highly successful carrom tournament for workers at ICBF Kanjani Hall. The event, held on Friday, July 19, saw enthusiastic participation with a total of 32 doubles teams competing.

After fierce contest of almost eight hours, the team comprising Ahmed Mulla and Saud Ansari emerged the winners while Afsal Yoosuf and Abdul Salam UP ended as runners-up. Raashid Khan and Kashif Sheik won the third place while Kathiravan Mariyappan and Mohamed Yusuf won the fourth place.

The prize distribution ceremony later in the evening was emceed by ICBF General Secretary Varkey Boban.

The welcome speech was delivered by the tournament coordinator and ICBF Head of Youth Welfare Sameer Ahmed, setting a positive tone for the proceedings.ICBF President Shanavas Bava addressed the gathering, emphasising the organisation’s commitment to for the welfare of the workers. He noted that the carrom tournament is a platform where their skills can be showcased, reflecting ICBF’s dedication to fostering community spirit and providing opportunities for skill development among workers.

Sathik Batcha Samsudeen of Mannai Home, who spoke on the occasion, expressed his happiness in associating with the tournament.

The prizes were distributed to the winning teams by ICBF President Shanavas Bava, Mannai Home Department Head Sathik Batcha Samsudeen, ICBF General Secretary Varkey Boban, Secretary Muhammed Kunhi, and Managing Committee members Sameer Ahmed, Shankar Goud, Abdul Raoof and Kulwinder Singh.

The matches were efficiently controlled by Khaleel Shafiulla Khan.Shankar Goud, who proposed the vote of thanks, acknowledged the support and efforts of everyone involved in making the event a grand success. The event coordination was praised for its smooth execution, with special thanks given to ICBF Managing Committee members and community volunteers.
