The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI), in cooperation with Alfardan Premier Motors, Qatar’s Land Rover dealership, has announced the recall of the Land Rover Defender 110 3.0i6 HSE 400PS, Discovery 2.0i4 R-Dynamic S, Range Rover Vogue 3.0 V6 SC, Range Rover Sport 3.0i6 HSE, and Range Rover Velar 2.0 R-Dynamic SE, 2024-2025 models. This recall is due to the potential development of cracks in the oil filter housing, possibly caused by the use of incorrect specifications during manufacturing. These cracks could result in oil leakage into the engine and engine bay, posing a fire risk. Additionally, the oil leakage could create a slipping hazard for other road users.

Furthermore, the MoCI, in cooperation with Q Auto, Qatar’s Volkswagen dealership, has announced the recall of the Volkswagen Golf, 2009 model. This recall addresses the deterioration of the front airbag propellant due to humidity, which may cause the gas generator housing to burst, potentially leading to injuries to the occupants.

The ministry said the recall campaign comes within the framework of its ongoing efforts to protect consumers and ensure that car dealers follow up on vehicle defects and repairs.
