DOHA: The Ministry of Interior has issued new regulations concerning the operational age of vehicles transporting goods and passengers through the Abu Samra border crossing.

According to the directive, trucks and taxis more than five years old, as well as buses older than ten years from their date of manufacture, will no longer be allowed to cross the land border.

The Ministry announced the changes on its social media platforms, stating, "In accordance with the regulatory directives concerning the transport of goods by trucks and the transport of passengers by buses and taxis via land routes, vehicles with an operational age of more than five (5) years from the date of manufacture are not permitted to cross the border via Abu Samra border crossing. Buses with an operational age of more than ten (10) years from the date of manufacture are also not allowed to cross the border via Abu Samra border crossing."
