Qatar Chamber (QC) on Monday hosted a Malaysian delegation led by Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail, The Regent of Perlis State in Malaysia.
The event was attended by QC First Vice-Chairman Mohamed bin Twar Al Kuwari and board member Abdulla bin Mohamed Al Emadi.
Also present at the meeting were Syed Sirajuddin Areeb Putra Jamalullail, son of the Regent of Perlis; Prof. Dr. Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin, The Mufti of Perlis; Haji Mohd Nazim bin Mohd Noor, CEO of the Perlis Islamic Religious Council and Malay Customs and Maryam Masyitah Ahmad Termizi, Charge d’Affaires of the Malaysian Embassy to Qatar.
The meeting reviewed the commercial and economic relations between Qatar and Malaysia, investment opportunities in Perlis, and the most prominent incentives offered to foreign investors.
Addressing the meeting, Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail said that the delegation’s visit aims to inform the Qatari business community about investment opportunities available in Perlis across various sectors such as tourism, industry, agriculture, mining, logistics, education, and fisheries.
Tuanku Syed Faizuddin Putra Jamalullail invited Qatari investors and businessmen to visit Malaysia and the state of Perlis to learn about the abundant investment opportunities there.
On his part, Mohamed bin Twar commended the commercial and economic relations between both countries, emphasizing that there is a shared desire to develop these relations to broader horizons.
He emphasised the chamber’s keenness to boost cooperation between the Qatari private sector and its Malaysian counterpart, noting that it encourages Qatari investors to invest in Malaysia, which offers a plenty of opportunities in various sectors.
