Trucks and taxis more than five years old, as well as buses older than ten years from their date of manufacture, will no longer be allowed to cross the Abu Samra land border, according to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The Ministry of Interior on Monday issued new regulations concerning the operational age of vehicles transporting goods and passengers through the Abu Samra border crossing. The MoI announced the changes on its social media platforms.

"In accordance with the regulatory directives concerning the transport of goods by trucks and the transport of passengers by buses and taxis via land routes, vehicles with an operational age of more than five (5) years from the date of manufacture are not permitted to cross the border via Abu Samra border crossing. Buses with an operational age of more than ten (10) years from the date of manufacture are also not allowed to cross the border via Abu Samra border crossing,” the MoI said on its official account on X platform.
