DOHA: Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani has received a phone call from US Secretary of State HE Antony Blinken.
They reviewed the close strategic relations between Qatar and the United States of America, ways to support and enhance them, and discussed the latest developments in the situation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, developments in joint mediation efforts to end the war on the Strip, and the ongoing tensions in the Middle East region.
The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and the US Secretary of State stressed the importance of continuing to work to reach a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip that would alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people, ensure the release of hostages and prisoners, open the door to the possibility of achieving broader stability, and spare the region further escalation.
The US Secretary of State expressed his thanks to the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs for the decisive role played by Qatar in achieving lasting regional peace.
