China maintained their perfect Olympic record in women’s synchronised 10m platform diving while North Korea claimed a first ever medal in the sport with silver. Three-time reigning world champions Chen Yuxi and Quan Hongchan were in a league of their own as they with 359.10 points from five dives. Chen also got gold at Tokyo 2020, then with Zhang Jiaqi, and has three world titles in the individual events before being beaten this year by Quan. North Koreans Jo Jin Mi and Kim Mirae were far behind with 315.90 but got silver like at the recent worlds, for the nation’s first Olympic diving medal and second at the Paris Games.
