Rubina Aswat, who concludes her tenure as President of SOHOM (Group of Spouses of Head of Mission in Qatar), has praised the various aspects of Qatari culture and environment. As the spouse of HE Musa Aswat, the outgoing ambassador of Panama, Rubina’s reflections offer a nuanced appreciation of Qatar’s distinctive qualities.

In her remarks, she highlighted the exceptional hospitality extended by the Qatari people. She described the warmth and friendliness of the local populace as remarkable, emphasizing how the genuine kindness of the Qatari hosts made a lasting impression. “This hospitality”, she noted, “went beyond mere courtesy, embodying a deep-seated cultural value that made my tenure in Qatar both enjoyable and memorable”.

Asvat also commended the peace and security that prevails in the country. “Qatar is not only a place of stability but also one where the safety of its residents and visitors is a top priority. This reassuring environment has contributed significantly to the positive experiences we had during our time in the country,” she observed.

Another notable aspect of Qatar, she points out, is the unique architecture here. “The country’s innovative and modern buildings blend traditional influences with cutting-edge design. The distinctive skyline and the thoughtfully designed structures reflect Qatar’s commitment to maintaining a dynamic and forward-thinking urban landscape while preserving its cultural heritage.”

Furthermore, she acknowledged the high standards of cleanliness maintained across the country. She pointed out that meticulous attention to hygiene and environmental care not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of Qatar but also contributes to the overall quality of life of its residents and visitors. This commitment to cleanliness is indicative of the nation’s broader dedication to creating a welcoming and pleasant environment.

Rubina’s reflections provide a comprehensive appreciation of Qatar’s hospitality, security, architectural innovation, and cleanliness. Her observations underscore the positive impact these attributes have had on her experience and reflect the high regard in which she holds the country and its people.

In her concluding remarks, Rubina, who’s had a happy married family life for over 40 years, especially thanked the SOHOM Group and Spouses of Latin American envoys group for their support and the bonds of a close family. She also thanked Mrs Farhana, the Secretary of SOHOM group, and a dedicated and caring personality.
