DOHA: The ninth Souq Waqif Local Dates Festival which drew a large number of visitors concluded on Saturday.
Since its opening on July 23, the festival witnessed the sale of a total of 240,172 kg of dates.
The last day of the festival saw sales of 23,341 kg of dates.
The 12-day event saw thousands of residents and visitors flocking to Souq Waqif to get a taste of a variety of fresh dates on display inside an air-conditioned tent at the Eastern Square.
