The United Architects of the Philippines (UAP) Qatar Chapter marked a significant milestone with the recently-held General Membership Meeting, Induction, Handover, and Oath-taking Ceremony for FY 2024-2025 at the Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach Hotel, in Doha.

The event was graced by Ambassador of the Philippines to Qatar HE Lilibeth Pono. Her presence highlighted the strong support and recognition of the P 154@145325_QTRI_04-08-2024_p06 154@145325_QTRI_04-08-2024_p06 154@145325_QTRI_04-08-2024_p06 154@145325_QTRI_04-08-2024_p06 hilippine Government towards the contribution of Filipino architects in Qatar’s thriving construction industry. It also embodied the cooperation that UAP Qatar has established with the Philippine government in Qatar through the year.

More than 100 architects attended the event, including distinguished personalities in the field of architecture and construction, both in Qatar and in the Philippines.

Arch. Vergilio Cerbito, UAP District Director A6, presided over the charging of the new Qatar Chapter officers and Board of Directors, headed by the Chapter President Arch. Jayson Santos, UAP, PIEP. Arch. Jonathan Manalalad, PhD, UAP, PEIP, UAP Area A Vice President officiated the induction rites.

The induction was followed by the presentation and charging of the Chapter committee heads and committee members, and the new members of the Chapter, respectively.

“We would like to express our gratitude for the trust placed on us, and we assure our commitment to lead the Chapter towards greater achievements,” said the new Chapter President Arch. Jayson, during his inaugural speech.

The new set of officers and Board of Directors have sworn their dedication with the promise to uphold the values and objectives set forth by the UAP throughout the years.

Arch. Kriz Quiogue, the UAP Qatar Immediate Past President for FY 2023-2024, was likewise acknowledged for his exemplary leadership and significant contributions during his term, along with the contributions and hard work of his set of officers and Board of Directors. The handover of responsibilities was conducted with great respect and camaraderie, symbolizing the seamless transition of leadership within the organization.

The event provided a platform for Filipino architects working in various construction and design companies in Qatar to network and exchange ideas. Additionally, it was attended by different construction specialists from Qatar, highlighting the collaborative spirit and shared goals within the industry.

The evening was filled with inspiring speeches, engaging discussions, and a reaffirmation of the UAP’s mission to promote excellence in the field of architecture. The successful organization of this event reflected the dedication and hard work of the UAP Qatar Chapter members, promising a bright and productive future under the new leadership.
