LONDON: The Cultural Attaché in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland held a reception for Qatari graduates for the year 2024; in the presence of Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the United Kingdom HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Thani, Fahad bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, Cultural Attaché, and Noura Mohammed Al Ansari, Acting Director of the Missions Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education.

The event was held with the participation of a large number of graduates of British, Scottish and Irish universities, in addition to representatives of international offices in British universities, where graduates in various specializations were honoured, as well as heads of student clubs in British universities.

On this occasion, Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah congratulated the graduates, stressing that this moment is the beginning of further development and achievements in their career path. He called on them to continue making efforts and working to contribute to building the nation and thanked their families who supported them in achieving this success.

He pointed out that the graduates will return to the homeland to be a tributary of the work in Qatar, and contribute to developing relations between Qatar and the United Kingdom. He wished them success in their career path, expressing his pride in participating in the graduates’ ceremony for this year 2024.

Fahad bin Mohammed Al Kuwari, the Cultural Attaché, praised the impressive successes achieved by the graduates of British universities this year 2024; wishing them to continue serving the country and achieving practical successes in the progress witnessed by Qatar at all levels.

He also called on the students to develop plans for themselves; whether by completing their studies or engaging in work; stressing the Cultural Attaché's continuous support to assist every student who wishes to complete his scientific and academic career, and urged them to search the market to choose the best places where they can showcase their experiences.

He thanked the university representatives for their continuous support for students from the time they joined the university until their graduation, and congratulated the outstanding students this year; wishing them to continue to excel during their work journey, and to preserve the Arab and Islamic culture and identity .

For her part, Al Ansari, Acting Director of the Scholarships Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, expressed her appreciation to the parents of the graduating students and shared their joy at their children’s success.

She quoted the saying of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani: “Qatar deserves the best from its children,” stressing that Qatar expects the best from them after graduation.

She pointed out that this day is a day of joy for success, but it requires a lot of effort and diligence from them to be ready for the labour market in Qatar and participate in achieving Qatar Vision 2030. She advised the students to be role models for their colleagues who are still in school, stressing that their achievements constitute an important epic in their lives.

Ibrahim Al Fadala, Student Affairs Officer at the Cultural Attaché in London, said that he takes this opportunity to congratulate the graduates of this year 2024, the outstanding ones among them, and their families who were the greatest supporters of their success. He wished the graduates success and urged them to do their best for our beloved country, Qatar, noting that this moment is not the end, but rather the beginning of a new stage to face the challenges of professional life.

Ambassador Sheikh Abdullah and Al Kuwari honoured several graduating students this year 2024, including three students who obtained a distinction with honours in various scientific disciplines from British universities, namely student Al Mayassa Hassan Al Sulaiti, Computer Systems Engineering major at Queen Mary University, student Zaid Wadah Khanfar, International Trade major at Westminster University, and student Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Qubaisi, Cybersecurity and Forensic Accounting major at Portsmouth University.

Four presidents of student clubs in British universities were also honoured, namely: student Hamad Al Tamimi, President of the Qatari Students Club in Scotland, student Talal Al Ishaq, President of the Students Club in Leeds, student Abdullah Al Hajri, President of the Qatari Students Club in Liverpool, and student Salem Abu Shuraida, President of the Qatari Students Club in Ireland.

Student Mohammed Abdulrahman Al Qubaisi, who obtained a distinction with honours in Cyber ​​Security and Forensic Accounting from the University of Portsmouth in the UK, said that he dedicates his success to his country, which provided him with a lot of support to achieve this excellence, and to his family, who supported him during his studies in Britain. He also thanked the Ambassador and the Cultural Attaché for organizing this ceremony and sharing their joy of success.

Student Noura Al Hedfa, who obtained a distinction with honours in her Master’s degree in International Politics from Oxford University, expressed her pride in being one of the students who achieved outstanding success this year. She thanked everyone who contributed to holding the reception for graduates and outstanding students, hoping to complete her academic journey to obtain a doctorate degree.

Student Talal Al-Ishaq, who obtained a degree with honours in computer engineering from the University of Leeds in Britain, expressed his passion for the next stage and his aspiration to exert more effort for the sake of the country. He also thanked the Cultural Attaché team, headed by the Cultural Attaché, for providing them with all forms of material, moral and academic support.

Queen Mary University student Teha Al Thani, majoring in Sustainable Energy Engineering, pointed out that she seeks to contribute to the development and transition towards sustainable energy in Qatar, stressing that she will exert all her efforts and expertise that she gained during her studies in the service of the nation. She also thanked those in charge of the graduates’ ceremony and the Cultural Attaché for their support, sponsorship and appreciation of all students.
