Qatar’s merchandise trade balance, the difference between total exports and imports, recorded a surplus of QR19.6 billion during June 2024, recording an increase of QR2.2 billion, or 12.4 percent, compared to June 2023 data and an increase of approximately QR2 billion, or 11.7 percent, compared to May 2024.

A statement released by the National Planning Council on Sunday stated that the value of total Qatari exports (which include exports of local origin and re-exports) during the month of June amounted to approximately QR29.5 billion, an increase of 9.9 percent compared to the data for June 2023, and an increase of 5.1 percent compared to May 2024.

On the other hand, the value of commodity imports increased during the month of June 2024, reaching about QR9.9 billion, an increase of 5.1 percent compared to the data for the month of June 2023, and a decrease of 5.8 percent compared to the month of May 2024.

Comparing June 2024 to June 2023 data, the value of exports of “Other Petroleum Gases and Gaseous Hydrocarbons” (LNG, condensates, propane, butane, etc.) increased to approximately QR17.9 billion, by 8.8 percent, the value of “Petroleum Oils and Oils from Crude Bituminous Minerals” increased to approximately QR5.1 billion, by 6 percent, and the value of exports of “Petroleum Oils and Oils from Non-Raw Bituminous Minerals” decreased to approximately QR2.2 billion, by 0.2 percent.page 8
