TELECOM major Ooredoo on Monday signed a one-year deal with Mall of Qatar to sponsor the stage at the centre of the iconic Oasis.
With this partnership, the stage will now be called the 'Ooredoo Stage' and the telecom company would become its exclusive telecommunications partner.
The agreement has paved the way for Ooredoo to go ahead with its plan to organise programmes related to sports, games and entertainment on the stage.
Addressing media on the occasion on Monday, Ooredoo Chief Operating Officer Yousuf Abdulla al Kubaisi said,"We're delighted to once again be partnering with Qatar's favourite mall to bring our people a host of entertainment and family-friendly events. The 'Ooredoo Stage' will see a variety of acts over the year and we encourage everyone to come along, enjoy the facilities and take advantage of a free show from Ooredoo and the Mall of Qatar."
When it comes to creating new and unique experiences, the 'Ooredoo Stage', will be the source of immersive entertainment at Mall of Qatar that has been enchanting visitors with awe-inspiring live shows since its opening.
The 360-degree revolving theatrical stage takes spectators to another world, with transformative lighting and sound capabilities dazzling viewers from every angle and giving them an incredible experience.
Talking to media on the sidelines of the event, Mall of Qatar CEO Stuart Elder said the partnership with Ooredoo will make the stage more productive.
He said,"Ooredoo will enrich the stage with activities and events that support our aims to provide the best in class entertainment and deliver exciting, one-of-a-kind events providing an unmatched experience to all the visitors."
There will be signage of Ooredoo across Oasis area throughout the year, Elder said, adding the sponsorship agreement might be extended beyond one year.
"Ooredoo is a big brand in the region. We are delighted to have Ooredoo as our partner. We are quite hopeful that our association will continue for long," he said.
Asked if Mall of Qatar will be known as 5G site any time soon, he said,"Yes, we are looking to have talks with Ooredoo in this connection. We are quite hopeful that Mall of Qatar will be known as 5G site soon."
Mall of Qatar and Ooredoo have already worked together on crowd pleasing and successful events such as the 'Meet and Greets' with Sir Mo Farah, the inspiring British multiple world, Olympic and European champion, and with Paris St Germain (PSG) stars Neymar, Kylian Mbappe, Thomas Meunier, Marco Verratti and Kevin Trapp, which gave the local community and sports fans the opportunity to meet their favourite players and get their autographs on posters and t-shirts.
