DOHA: The National Planning Council has released the 126th issue of Qatar: Monthly Statistics Bulletin, a series of statistical newsletters released every month. The issue highlighted the most important statistical changes that occurred in the country during June 2024 in addition to extracts from the results of the 2020 Census.

Among the notable changes in this issue is a monthly decrease in the total number and value of sold properties by 11.5 percentand 11.2 percent, respectively (compared to May 2024). This was accompanied by a monthly decrease of 30.6 percentin the value of traded stocks, 14percentin the total number of traffic accidents, and 17.6 percentin the total number of traffic accident fatalities (compared to May 2024).

The demographic statistics revealed that the total population of Qatar has increased from 2.656 million in June 2023 to 2.858 million in June 2024 at an annual increase rate of change of 7.6 percent, and decreased monthly by 7.2 percent(compared to May 2024).

Regarding Vital Statistics, 2434 live births have been registered during June 2024. Also, an increase in the total Qatari live births by 0.2 percentcompared to last month. On the other hand, 188 deaths were recorded during the same period, a decrease of 17.9 percentcompared to May 2024.

Moreover, June 2024 witnessed a monthly decrease of 14.0 percent and 32.3 percentof total marriage contracts and total divorce certificates. The total number of marriage contracts reached 349 marriage contracts, while the total number of divorce certificates reached 126 cases.

The Social Security statements reached QR77mn in June 2024, for 14,362 beneficiaries, recording a monthly decrease of 0.5 percentfor the value of social security and a monthly decrease of 0.1 percentfor the number of beneficiaries of Social Security.

As for the Banking Sector; The total Broad Money Supply (M2) recorded about QR732bn during June 2024, an annual increase of 4.7 percentcompared with June 2023.

On the other hand, cash equivalents; including Commercial Bank Deposits, attained for QR1,032bnduring June 2024. The figure has recorded an annual increase of 8.0 percentcompared to June 2023, when deposits recorded approximately QR955bn.

Regarding the data on building permits issued, the total number of permits has reached 543 permits during June 2024, recording a monthly decrease of 30.6 percentand an annual decrease of 15.3 percent.

The total number of registered new vehicles during June 2024 has reached 6,333 new vehicles. The figure showed a monthly decrease of 28.9 percentand it showed an annual decrease of 3.9 percent.

Traffic accident cases without counting the accidents without injuries, a total of 647 traffic cases were recorded during June 2024, showing a monthly decrease of 14.0 percentand an annual increase of 4.5 percent. Light injuries accounted for most traffic accident cases during the same month, with 92 percent, followed by severe injuries at 6 percent. However, 14 deaths were recorded, equivalent to only 2 percentof total traffic accident cases.

As for tourism, the total number of inbound visitors reached about 316,000, recording a monthly increase of 0.9 percent(compared to May 2024) and recorded an annual increase of 12.2 percent(compared to June 2023). The highest number of visitors was from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) at 47 percent. As for visitors by type of port, the visitors via Air make up the highest percentage with 55 percentof the total number of visitors.
