Cuban Greco-Roman wrestler Mijain Lopez has become the first Olympian to win the same individual event at five straight Games.

Lopez, 41, beat Chile’s Yasmani Acosta Fernandez 6-0 for gold in the 130 kilogram division.

Five-time world champion Lopez was competing at his sixth Games, starting with a fifth-place finish 2004 in Athens.

He won the heaviest class of 120 kilos 2008 in Beijing and 2012 in London, and when the top division was raised to 130 kilos also the gold 2016 in Rio, at Tokyo 2020 and now in Paris.

He moves ahead of several others who have four golds in one event, including American discus thrower Al Oerter, long jumper Carl Lewis, and swimmers Michael Phelps (200m butterfly) and Katie Ledecky, who joined the group Saturday with a fourth 800m freestyle gold.
