His Excellency Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC), on Tuesday met with David Lappartient, President of the French Olympic Committee and President of the International Cycling Union. The meeting took place during a tour of the French House, where aspects of development and cooperation were discussed in light of the long-term partnership between QOC and the French Olympic Committee with the aim of promoting and developing the sports movement in the two countries. H.E. Sheikh Joaan also met with the Olympic Refugee Team on the sidelines of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. It is worth noting that the Qatar Olympic Committee is a founding member of the Olympic Refugee Foundation, and His Excellency Sheikh Joaan is a member of the Foundation’s Board of Directors. Qatar affirms its deep commitment to supporting this important cause, and has hosted the Olympic Refugee Foundation Board of Directors meeting in Doha in May 2024. (TNN)
