An EU delegation in Qatar, in partnership with Generation Amazing Foundation, Aspire Academy, the View Hospital, AI Sports and Toys4me successfully orgainsed ‘eunited’ summer camp for Palestinian children evacuated from Gaza.

The inspiring initiative offered a range of fun, sport, and cultural activities designed to promote personal development, social-emotional learning, and good sportsmanship.

Around 55 children between the ages 9 and 14 years participated in the camp which was held at Aspire Academy. Its activities included football, basketball, kick-boxing training, friendly matches, educational sessions, workshops, and masterclasses on sports, arts, and mindfulness.

Ambassador of the European Union Delegation in State of Qatar HE Dr Cristian Tudor said, "I am proud that for the second year in a row we have brought together some of the most prominent local organizations in order to create a safe space where children from Gaza were empowered to just be children and enjoy some moments of pure joy, away from the pain of war.”

Aspire’s Deputy Director General Ali Salem Afifa said it was a privilege to host another successful EU Summer Camp, especially

for children who have been evacuated from the ongoing violence in Palestine.

"We, as Aspire, can only hope that these past few days have provided them with a distraction from what they have experienced in recent times and allowed them to play and simply be children,” he noted.

Nasser AlKhori, Executive Director, Generation Amazing Foundation, said it was a matter of pride to continue their partnership with the Delegation of the European Union and Aspire Academy in delivering the ‘eunited’ summer camp for children from Gaza.

The View Hospital’s CEO Mathew Dronsfield expressed his joy on their contribution in the growth of children from Gaza. "Through enriching activities, our aim is to enhance their well-being and make a positive impact on their lives,” he said.

Mohammad Abedalatti from Toys4Me, said, "Putting smiles on children’s faces is at the core of what we do at Toys4Me. So, to see the smiles of the children of Gaza because of our toys and games was truly a heartwarming experience.”

The summer camp, was also supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Social Development and Family, Qatar Financial Center, Olympic Sport Museum, and Zerohundred Creative Agency.
