While there will also be a contribution for travel to play away from home, each participating club will be given a financial sum of $30,000 for each away match, in addition to a match win bonus of $30,000 for each match they win.

The approval to hold the Gulf Clubs Championship was issued during the meeting of the Executive Office of the Arabian Gulf Cup Federation, which was held at the end of last May, based on the proposal of the Federation’s Competitions Committee.

The Arab Gulf Cup Football Association is a regional football federation that includes eight member countries, and was established in May 2016.

Several preparatory meetings were held in 2015 using the name “Gulf Football Association”. Then the federation was established in 2016 as the “Arabian Gulf Cup Football Federation” to reflect the oldest tournament in the region, which is the Arabian Gulf Cup. H.E. Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani from Qatar was chosen as AGCFF’s first president.

The federation’s main headquarters is in Doha.
