MES Indian School celebrated the 78th Independence Day of India on August 15 at the Conference Hall of the school with traditional fervour. School governing board officiating President Kashif Jaleel, the chief guest of the event, unfurled the Indian national flag. This was followed by the singing of the National Anthem by the school choir.

Speaking on the occasion, the school Principal, Dr. Hameeda Kadar, remarked: “As citizens, we need to be grateful to our nation’s architects who formulated an exemplary Constitution of India, and through their unflinching efforts and sacrifices, steered the nation towards incredible progress and development.”

The students of the school presented a patriotic song depicting the glory of the nation. Head Girl Sheza Fathima welcomed the gathering and Head Boy Ahmed Faisal proposed the vote of thanks. Hajeera Kauser, member of the teaching faculty, compered the programme. Shabreena Hyder and the school cultural coordinators coordinated the event.

MES school governing board General Secretary Hazmal Ismail, the principal, senior vice principal, and other key functionaries of the teaching and non-teaching staff, parents and students were among those who attended the celebrations.
