Ideal Indian School celebrated the 78th Independence Day of India with immense enthusiasm. School President Dr. Hassan Kunhi M.P. unfurled the Indian national flag at 8am, accompanied by the singing of ‘Jana Gana Mana,’ the national anthem, by the school choir.

The gathering for the flag hoisting ceremony included Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb, heads of sections, heads of departments, teaching and non-teaching staff, students, parents, and well-wishers.

In his keynote address, Dr. Hassan Kunhi emphasised the importance of the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. He underlined the need for all Indians to reflect on the values that define the nation’s greatness: unity, diversity, resilience, and progress.

Highlighting that India is on a path of remarkable growth, steadily advancing towards becoming a fast-developing economy, he pointed out that this progress is fuelled by innovative policies, a dynamic workforce, and a strong commitment to technological advancement.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Shaik Shamim Saheb reminded everyone that as citizens, "our foremost responsibility is to safeguard and uphold the values enshrined in our Constitution, which our founders carefully crafted to ensure that our nation remains united and continues to progress.”

Dr. Kunhi presented to an official of Qatar Charity a cheque for the treatment of Baby Malkha Rouhi, which included funds raised from students and staff and a generous contribution from the school management.

The Independence Day programme was coordinated by Mohamed Nowfal, head of Physical Education and hosted by Anwar Sadath head of the English Department.
