Paris Saint-Germain have completed the signing of France Under-21 international Desire Doue from Rennes.

The 19-year-old winger has signed a five-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions.

Doue returns to Parc des Princes after winning Olympic silver with France following a 5-3 defeat to Spain at the stadium earlier this month.

"I’m delighted to be joining Paris Saint-Germain,” he told PSG’s website on Saturday.

"I’m really excited, and also happy and proud. It’s a dream come true. I can’t wait to discover the Parc des Princes in a PSG jersey and to play in front of these fans.”

Angers-born Doue scored eight goals in 76 appearances for Rennes.

PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi said: "Desire is one of the most exciting young stars in France and Europe, hungry to succeed at the highest level with PSG.”

The news came the day after Luis Enrique’s PSG started life after Kylian Mbappe with a late 4-1 win at Le Havre in the first match of their Ligue 1 championship defence.

Paris Saing-Germain were marking their first competitive match following the departure of Mbappe to Real Madrid - bringing to an end a long-running transfer saga that saw the striker frequently linked with a move away from the side he joined from Monaco in 2018.

The France captain ended a six-year stay at the Parc des Princes, during which he scored 256 goals across 308 games.

But PSG are set to be without Portugal striker Gonçalo Ramos for around three months due to a severe ankle ligament sprain.

The club said Ramos would undergo surgery in the coming days on the injury to his left ankle, which he suffered in Friday night’s match.
