Twice Tour de France winner Jonas Vingegaard lived up to his status as favourite when he clinched the Tour de Pologne title on Sunday. Denmark’s Vingegaard prevailed 13 seconds ahead of Italian rider Diego Ulissi, with Dutchman Wilco Kelderman third, another seven seconds back, after seven stages. Defending champion Matej Mohoric of Slovenia came sixth. The final stage over 142.1 kilometres from Wieliczka to Krakow was won by Dutch rider Olav Kooij in a mass sprint. Visma-Lease a Bike rider Vingegaard won the Tour de France in 2022 and 2023 and was runner-up to Slovenia’s Tadej Pogacar this year. (DPA)
