As part of the celebrations of India’s 78th Independence Day, a blood donation camp was organised by Manithaneya Kalachara Peravai on August 16 in collaboration with Hamad Medical Corporation at the Qatar National Blood Donation Centre. Manithaneya Kalachara Peravai is an associate organisation of the ICBF under the aegis of the Indian Embassy in Doha.

An enthusiastic crowd of community members gathered for the camp with more than 100 donating their blood to help save lives.

First Secretary of the Indian Embassy Dr. Vaibhav Tandale, ICBF President Shanavas Bawa, ICC President AP Manikantan, ICBF General Secretary Varkey Boban, ICC Vice President Subramanya Hebbagelu, and ICBF managing committee members were present on the occasion.

Also present were Head of Domestic Welfare Neelambari, Head of Youth Wing Sameer Ahmed, Head of Fisherman Welfare Shankar Goud, ICBF advisory member Ramaselvam, Sathik Batcha from Mannai Home, Outreach Qatar President Avinash Pandian from QTS along with MKP Medical Wing Coordinator Sudha Manimegala. A number of other MKP lead members, community leaders and volunteers, participated in the camp. All of them appreciated the event.

An appreciation certificate was given to the donors on MKP’s behalf to thank them for their contributions. ‘Be a Lifesaver—Donate Blood Regularly’, was the event’s message to everyone.
