RAYHAN Medical Complex, a medical centre located in Al Markhiya in Doha, has launched its Dental Department which focuses on extensive dental services.
The dental services division offers the latest in dental technology including the Hollywood Smile.
The 'Hollywood smile', which was initially mastered in the United States, is a dental treatment which is wafer-thin, custom-made shells of tooth-colored materials designed to cover the front surface of teeth to improve their appearance.
Dr Amed Magdi Qasim, who joins Al Rayhan with 14 years of experience in Peridontoly, Implantology and Laser Treatment explains the importance of having healthy teeth and gums whether one chooses to go the Hollywood Smile route or not. He says:"One of the most common trends in cosmetic dentistry is the smile makeover. Smile makeovers have the power to transform a yellow, crooked, misshapen, or gapped smile into a beaming Hollywood smile."
"Everything in our body depends on what we consume; which comes with being able to have healthy nutrition and eating habits. This also pertains to the mouth, gums and teeth," continues Dr Ahmed. The perfect smile is a sought-after medical treatment whether for aesthetic purposes or for health reasons.
Aside from offering the Hollywood Smile, Rayhan Medical Complex offers a wide range of teeth and gum treatments which keeps teeth healthy and clean including Fluoride treatments, teeth layer protection treatments and anti-dental caries, in addition to dental cleaning and lightening. Using an initial dental test, in which different doctors and specialists from different dental specialties are included, and using state-of-the-art equipment and technologies, the dental department ensures the best diagnosis and treatment plans for each patient.
The dental practitioner, who has a master's in Periodontology and is a fellow of New York University, says:"Having healthy teeth and healthy gums prevents halitosis, dental caries and stomatitis, things that are in turn primordial in preventing dental loss when a person reaches a certain age. There is also a strong connection between having healthy teeth and preventing several fatal health issues such as heart attacks, cerebrovascular accidents, complications of diabetes mellitus and Alzheimer's disease."
To prevent fatal health issues, healthy and clean gums need to start at home, says Dr Amed.
He adds:"Teeth brushing should be done twice a day, after every meal, ideally after having breakfast and before going to bed, with regular flossing to remove potential food lodged between the teeth. Using antibacterial mouthwashes that contain Fluoride is also helpful in protecting and strengthening teeth."
