The Pakistani community in Qatar observed their country’s Independence Day with traditional fervour and enthusiasm.

The celebrations of the day commenced with a prestigious and impressive flag hoisting ceremony held at the Pakistan embassy.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) organised a cake-cutting ceremony at its new location in Umm Ghuwailina area. Pakistan Ambassador HE Muhemmed Aejaz, Defence Attache Commodore Sharjeel Iftikhar, and Community Welfare Attache Waheedullah Khan attended the event besides prominent community members.

PIA Country Manager Malik Muhammad Waqas welcomed the guests and thanked the community members for their continued support.

Members of Pakistan Pakhtoon Ittihad Community (PPIC) gathered at Royal Kashmir Restaurant to celebrate their country’s Independence Day. General Secretary Jangrez Khan welcomed the guests. Community Welfare Attache Waheedullah Khan presided over the event. Vice Chairman Ishtiyaq Bangash, President Sheraz Khan Orakzai and Israr Khan Malazai spoke on the occasion. Others present on the occasion were Malak Noor Shaheed Khan Bangash and Janan Bangash.

Sohni Dharti forum organised a colorful event to celebrate Independence Day in Al-Khor, where noted poetess Samreen Nadeem Samar was the chief guest. Sohail Shouket from Sundar Trading Company and Mohd Iqbal Butt, owner of New Shan-e-Lahore Restaurant were also present. Chairman Anwar Ali Rana welcomed the guests. The programme was hosted by Abdullah Aaban Anwar, Azaan Baig, Mosaddeq Atif, M Ayyan, Hanzla Imran, Muhammad Mohsin, Hooria Sarwar Simra and Manahel Talib. A colorful show was presented by children on the occasion.
