Dortmund: Goakeeper Manuel Riemann has filed a lawsuit against his club Bochum and, according to the city’s labour court, he’s claiming his right to train with the professional team.

Bochum released Riemann in May shortly before the Bundesliga relegation play-off against Fortuna Düsseldorf, but continued to pay his salary.

The club said back then that the measure was taken due to “irreconcilable differences of opinion on team-related issues.” According to media reports, Riemann, who has a contract with Bochum until June 2025, repeatedly clashed with his team-mates. The club is offering him the possibility of training with the under-21 team or training individually with one of the goalkeeping coaches. A conciliation hearing is to take place on Friday. According to media reports, Riemann has not yet accepted the club’s offer of an amicable settlement. (dpa)
