CAIRO: Qatar is participating in the two-day 35th International Conference of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs in the Egyptian capital Cairo.

Qatar’s delegation to the conference is headed by Assistant Undersecretary for Islamic Affairs at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Khalid bin Shaheen Al Ghanim.

The conference is held under the title 'The Role of Women in Building Awareness'.

It is the first conference for female preachers, held with the aim of enhancing community awareness of the pivotal role played by women in various areas of life, through six axes that address the role of women in building religious and cultural awareness, serving the community, building the family and raising children, promoting the values ​​of tolerance and coexistence, and making and building peace, in addition to reviewing the Egyptian experience in empowering women.

The conference is attended by about 60 countries, more than 100 figures including ministers, muftis, representatives of Islamic bodies, councils, institutions, and public figures, in addition to a large number of scholars from around the world.
