DOHA: In order to protect Qatari industries and ensure the sustainability of the national economy, theMinistry of Commerce and Industry has announced Decision No 21and Decision No 22of 2024, imposing anti-dumping duties on certain car battery imports from the Republic of Korea and the Republic of India.
In a social media post on Tuesday, the ministry said key objectives of the decision include protectingQatari industries, ensuring a level playing field where local products can thrive amidst fair competition; combating anti-dumping practices, forbidding the influx of imports sold at unfair prices that undermine the competitiveness of Qatari products, and promotingeconomic sustainability, fostering market stability and cultivating a fair, enduring trade environment that benefits the national economy.
