Pakistan Cultural Forum Qatar (PCFQ), in collaboration with Al Jasrah Cultural and Social Club, the Ministry of Culture, organised an event to commemorate Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day.

The event, held in the premises of Al Jasrah Club, Souq Waqif, was attended by guests from Palestine, Iraq, Sudan, Tunisia, and Bosnia besides a large number of Pakistanis.

The event commenced with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Qaiser Khan.

PCFQ Chairperson Dr Khalil Shibli welcomed Pakistan Ambassador HE Muhemmed Aejaz, Muhammad Salem Al Derwish and Nahed Al Naimi. He outlined the purpose of celebrating the Independence Day of Pakistan, and thanked the management of Al Jasrah Cultural and Social Club and the Ministry of Culture for providing a heritage venue to hold the event.

The Pakistan Ambassador praised the efforts made by PCFQ and the Pakistani community for attending the event in large numbers. The ambassador highlighted the efforts of the Pakistan Embassy in strengthening cultural relationships with Qatar and expanding the horizon of cultural scene in Qatar.

The envoy announced that the Pakistan Embassy would hold a cultural event with Qatar Museums.

He underlined the vision of the Pakistan embassy for broadening the horizon of education, culture, art, science, technology, agriculture, and building infrastructure. He thanked the Pakistani engineers, doctors, IT specialists and the community engaged in all walks of life for contributing in the development of Qatar.

Representing the board members of Al Jasrah Club, Nahed Al Naemi thanked the PCFQ for organising the event in their premises. She extended warm welcome to PCFQ and the Pakistan Embassy and offered her continued support to organise such events of bilateral interest in arranging culturally aligned events.

PCFQ Chief Patron Riyaz Ahmed Bakali took a broader look at the Pakistani community’s cultural, social and welfare activities and applauded the role of all the organisations working for engineers, professionals, women and businesses in Qatar. He highlighted the past literary and cultural events organised by PCFQ. He thanked Defence Attaché Commodore Sharjeel Iftikhar and Community Welfare Attache Waheed Ullah Khan for their presence.

The highlight of the event was a grand musical concert of Pakistan’s national songs rendered by renowned Doha-based artists and singers. Tanweer Awan led the band while Jamshaid Bajwa, Akbar Khan, Mazhar Yousufzai, Muhammad Arif, Raza Khan Gullo and Asad Khan performed.

The taste buds of the audience were tickled by the Pakistan Flag shaped cake and popular traditional Pakistani cuisine provided by Behzad Ali Khan who runs Punjab Restaurant.

The event concluded with a special gratitude to the coordinator Al Jasrah Club Ali Ragab Omar and Muhammad Anas Azeemi who led the media team for PCFQ.
