The 30-year-old Argentina international, who won the Copa America with his country in 2021 and the Europa League with his Serie A parent club last season, has signed after passing a medical. A statement on Atleti’s official website read: "Atletico Madrid and Atalanta have come to an agreement for Juan Musso to join the club on loan until the end of the season. "The 30-year-old Argentine goalkeeper, who is 191cm tall and boasts an excellent command of aerial play, brings a wealth of experience from Italy’s Serie A, where he has spent the past six seasons after starting his career in his home country with Racing Club de Avellaneda.” Musso headed for Europe in 2018 when he joined Udinese, where he spent three seasons before his switch to Atalanta during the summer of 2021.
