The visit of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Sweden marks a new step towards expanding cooperation between the two countries, Swedish investment company FAM AB CEO Hakan Buskhehas said.

Buskhe highlighted the shared commitment of both nations to deepen bilateral relations across multiple fields.

Buskhe noted that FAM AB has been operating in Qatar for years through its subsidiaries and is eager to explore further opportunities for joint ventures both within and outside Qatar.

He underscored the company’s focus on sustainability, a key area aligned with the shared goals of Qatar and Sweden and acknowledged the significant efforts of Qatari institutions in this sector.

During his recent visit to Qatar, Buskhe discussed several promising projects, including green steel, blue hydrogen, green iron, and carbon capture and storage systems. These initiatives reflect the mutual interest in pursuing sustainable and innovative solutions.

He expressed the company’s enthusiasm for expanding partnerships with local Qatari companies and institutions, emphasising that there are many shared objectives that can be achieved by leveraging each other’s strengths.

Buskhe also highlighted FAM AB’s dedication to education and scientific research as part of its corporate social responsibility, emphasizing a long-term approach that goes beyond business transactions. "We are not just visitors who come, work, and leave; we are committed to contributing to the communities where we operate,” he stated.

He praised Qatar’s strides in modern technology, sustainability, and digital transformation, stressing that innovation is essential to meeting market demands and maintaining business success. Buskhe reiterated that FAM AB is keen to support and collaborate with Qatari institutions to drive forward joint projects that benefit both nations.

He expressed confidence that the continued engagement between Qatar and Sweden would foster valuable economic and social advancements.
