As the new academic year commences, Qatar Charity (QC) has launched the ‘Baraem’ programme, designed to support children unable to join kindergarten. The programme focuses on their psychological, academic, and behavioural development to prepare them for formal education in the upcoming school year.

This programme, which coincides with the launch of the ‘Prioritizing their Education’ campaign, reflects QC’s commitment to providing a nurturing environment for young learners. By integrating educational, scientific, and cultural elements through a curriculum, the programme aims to prepare children for formal education while enhancing their linguistic, literary, and behavioural skills.

The programme, which targets 300 children aged 4-6 years, primarily focuses on instilling values, teaching the alphabet, and improving their skills in various fields, applying certain manners and behaviours. It also aims to improve the children’s skills of reading stories and writing words and sentences.

QC’s community development centres in Al Khor and Al Rayyan, along with its social development centre for expatriate communities, are continuing to implement the four-month-long ‘Baraem’ programme.

The programme includes regular interactive activities designed to enhance skills, promote community values, teach proper behaviour, and instill good manners through the practice of various etiquettes and social norms.

Abdulrahman Mohammad Al-Hajri, firector of the programmes and community development department at QC, stated that this programme is part of the charity’s efforts to provide a supportive educational environment for children unable to attend kindergarten. By utilising a structured curriculum, the programme aids students in reading both Arabic and English letters, while also teaching them other subjects.

He added that the programme has been running for ten years, receiving substantial attention from parents, and graduating hundreds of children annually. He also emphasised the role of a dedicated team of qualified and experienced teachers skilled in working with children and providing them with a necessary educational foundation.

Under the slogan ‘Prioritizing their Education’, Qatar Charity has launched a campaign to support educational projects in 25 countries worldwide. The campaign aims to provide school uniforms, cover tuition fees, build and furnish schools, as well as offer scholarships, and sponsor students.
