Pakistan Welfare Forum (PWF), in collaboration with Qatar National Blood Donation Center at HMC, organised a successful blood donation campaign on August 30.

The initiative was aimed at supporting the healthcare system by providing much-needed blood to patients in critical need, as well as to raise awareness of the importance of regular blood donation within the community.

Dr Zia Mahmood, Dr Kashif Mehmood Chaudhary, Dr Ejaz Ahmed Latif, and Sabir Zahoor were the coordinators of the campaign.

The blood donation drive held at Qatar Blood Donation Center offered a convenient and easily accessible location to donors. The event began at 3pm and concluded at 6pm, with donors and volunteers arriving steadily throughout the duration.

A committed team of PWF-Q including Qaiser Anwar, Mubashir Ali Nadeem, Ateeq Ur Rashid, Asim Khattak, and Haroon Qureshi alongwith the Qatar Blood Donation Center staff were on hand to ensure the donation process was conducted safely, efficiently, and comfortably.

After donating blood, the donors were provided with refreshments and a rest period to monitor their well-being.

The event witnessed an enthusiastic turnout from members of the Pakistani community, as well as other nationalities residing in Qatar. The participation met expectations, highlighting the community’s commitment to supporting healthcare initiatives.

Strict health and safety measures were implemented to ensure the safety of all participants.

Qatar Blood Donation Center provided all necessary medical equipment and supplies. All donors underwent a thorough health screening before donating, and post-donation care was provided to ensure donor well-being.

"The Pakistan Welfare Forum-Qatar is proud to have played a role in supporting the local healthcare system and looks forward to organising similar initiatives in the future to continue promoting the welfare of the community,” remarked President Khalid Sajjad Bhatti.

He added: "We would like to express heartfelt gratitude to all the blood donors who participated in the blood donation drive. Their selfless act of kindness and generosity will have a profound impact on the lives of many patients in need of blood transfusions. We deeply appreciate their time, effort, and commitment to this noble cause. Their participation is not only a testament to their character but also serves as an inspiration to others to engage in such life-saving initiatives. Thank you for making a difference and being a beacon of hope for those in need,” Bhatti said.
