OSLO: His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway HE Jonas Gahr Støre held an official session of talks at the Government Guesthouse in the capital Oslo.
At the beginning of the session, the Norwegian prime minister welcomed His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation, praising the friendly and cooperative relations between the two countries, and expressed his hope that His Highness the Amir's visit to the Kingdom of Norway would contribute to consolidating and strengthening bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries in various fields.
For his part, His Highness the Amir expressed his appreciation to the Norwegian prime minister for the warm welcome and hospitality he and the accompanying delegation received during this visit, stressing his aspiration to work with the Norwegian prime minister to advance bilateral cooperation to broader horizons in light of the diplomatic relations that have extended for more than fifty years between the two countries, and to strengthen bilateral partnerships between the two countries in various fields.
During the session, aspects of cooperation between the two friendly countries and ways to enhance and develop them were also discussed, especially in the fields of investment, economy, energy and international cooperation, in addition to discussing the most prominent regional and international issues of common interest, especially the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories.
The session was attended by Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of State for Energy AffairsHE Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and IndustryHE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign AffairsHE Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, and several senior officials.
From the Norwegian side, it was attended by Minister for International DevelopmentHE Annie Birthe Tvinerem, Minister for Foreign AffairsHE Espen Barth Eide, Minister for EnergyHE Terje Åseland, HE Annie Marie Enerud, Minister of State for Defence HE Vegard Grosli Wennesland, Minister of State at the Ministry of Trade and Industry, and some senior officials.
His Highness the Amir and the Norwegian prime minister held a bilateral meeting, during which they discussed several issues and topics of common interest.
