The recent visit of His Highness the Amir of the State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani to Norway will significantly enhance bilateral relations in various fields, Qatar Chamber (QC) Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani has said.
He noted that the visit is expected to positively impact trade and investment exchanges, as well as foster closer cooperation and partnerships between the private sectors of the two countries.
Sheikh Khalifa emphasised the mutual interest and commitment from both Qatar and Norway to develop economic and trade cooperation, aiming to increase the volume of mutual investments.
“There is a shared keenness on both sides to strengthen our economic ties, which will undoubtedly lead to more robust trade and investment flows between our nations,” he said.
He affirmed that Qatar welcomes Norwegian investments across all sectors, highlighting the country’s world-class infrastructure, attractive investment climate, and ample opportunities in various fields. He further emphasised Qatar Chamber’s role in encouraging Qatari businessmen and investors to explore investment opportunities available in Norway.
Sheikh Khalifa noted that the close cooperation between Qatar and Norway, especially in economic and commercial fields, has led to substantial growth in trade exchanges. He pointed out that the trade volume between the two countries reached approximately QR1.3 billion in 2023, marking asignificant increase over the past two years.
“The strong economic ties between Qatar and Norway reflect the efforts made by both sides to enhance trade relations,” he added. “We are witnessing a dynamic phase of collaboration that is set to bring about new opportunities for businesses in both countries.”
Concluding his remarks, Sheikh Khalifa reiterated Qatar Chamber’s commitment to supporting and facilitating cooperation between the business sectors in both nations. He stated that QC actively works to promote the establishment of partnerships and alliances between Qatari and Norwegian companies, thereby strengthening trade and economic cooperation.
Sheikh Khalifa expressed optimism that HH the Amir’s visit will serve as a catalyst for further enhancing bilateral relations, paving the way for more substantial economic collaboration and mutual growth.
