Drug smuggler lands in hot water at HIA

DOHA: The Hamad International Airport (HIA) Customs Departmenthas thwarted an attempt to smuggle banned Larica tablets, the General Authority of Customs said in a social media post on Thursday.

The banned substance,hidden inside a box containing a water heater in an oncoming passenger’s luggage, was found upon inspection.

The authority said13,579 tablets were found.
