The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MoCI) organised a ceremony to honour entities that supported price reduction initiatives in 2024, aimed at stabilising prices and ensuring the availability of consumer goods during key religious periods.

The initiatives targeted price reductions for sheep meat during the holy month of Ramadan and sacrificial animals during Eid Al Adha.

The event was attended by Assistant Undersecretaries of the Ministry, several officials, and company owners who played a crucial role in the success of these initiatives.

Mohammed Mubarak Al Amri, director of the department of specialised licensing and market monitoring, addressed the audience, commending the collective efforts that supported the initiatives. He highlighted the significant contributions of both public and private entities, emphasizing their commitment to social responsibility.

AlAmri underscored the initiatives’ impact in supporting local production and enhancing the availability of essential consumer goods during critical times. He praised the coordination between public and private sectors, which played a pivotal role in benefiting Qatari society.

He also reiterated the Ministry’s commitment to continuing support for similar initiatives in the future, urging more companies and individuals to participate.

The ceremony featured a visual presentation detailing the objectives and impact of the price reduction initiatives. Participating entities were honoured for their outstanding contributions, recognising the coordinated efforts that led to the successful stabiliation of essential goods.
