The Philippine Nurses Association-Qatar (PNA-Q), the organisation for Filipino nurses in Qatar founded in 2008, recently held a grand ceremonial dinner at Abesq Doha Hotel to celebrate and honour the newly registered Philippine nurses, marking a significant milestone in their professional journeys.
The event was attended by distinguished guests, including Arch. Michael Niño Garcia, PNA-Q honorary member and former chairperson of the Philippine Professional Organization Qatar (PPOQ) in 2017; Engr. Charles Canonizado, PPOQ Secretary for 2024; and Cirio Caras, past president of PNA-Q and former PPOQ chairperson in 2020.
Arch. Michael Niño Garcia added a personal touch to the evening by presenting Jane Lam, one of the founders of the organisation, with his masterpiece work of art. This special gift was a token of appreciation for Ms. Lam’s unwavering dedication to the organisation and the nursing community in Qatar, symbolising gratitude and recognition for her exceptional contributions.
Adding to the night’s significance, Norwil Baguio, the current president of PNA-Q, and the world-renowned nursing theorist Dr. Jean Watson from USA, known for her Theory of Human Caring, greeted the new Philippine Registered Nurses (RNs) through a special video message. Their words of encouragement and wisdom resonated with the audience, inspiring the new nurses to uphold the highest standards of care and compassion.
The evening was filled with joy, camaraderie, and inspiration, as the newly registered nurses were warmly welcomed into the community. Their commitment to excellence in nursing continues to enhance the quality of healthcare in Qatar, reflecting the professionalism and dedication of Filipino nurses worldwide.
