The trade volume between Qatar and Germany reached QR 7.1 billion (€1.8 billion) in 2023, marking a 4.4 percent increase from QR 6.8 billion (€1.7 billion) in 2022, according to Qatar Chamber Chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani.

He made the announcement while leading the chamber’s delegation at the joint meeting of the executive office and board of directors of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa) held on September 9 in Berlin.

The delegation, which included board members Khaled bin Klefeekh Al Hajri and Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, participated in discussions focused on enhancing commercial and industrial cooperation between Germany and Arab countries. The meeting aimed to explore ways to promote trade and strengthen economic ties between both sides.

In his remarks, Sheikh Khalifa, who also serves as the First Vice President of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry, praised the dynamic economic relations between Germany and Arab nations. He noted that these relationships have seen significant growth in recent years, driven by increased trade and investment flows.

“The economic relations between Germany and Arab countries have witnessed rapid development in recent years,” Sheikh Khalifa said. “This growth is reflected in the Arab-German trade volume, which reached €60 billion in 2023, up from €51 billion in 2022, representing a 20 percent increase.”

Highlighting the strong trade partnership between Qatar and Germany, Sheikh Khalifa emphasised Germany’s importance as one of Qatar’s key trading partners. The rise in trade volume underscores the strengthening bilateral economic ties, with both nations benefiting from increased collaboration in various sectors, including energy, technology, and industry.
