DOHA: Qatar has strongly condemned the renewed Israeli occupation bombing of a school affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), which houses displaced persons in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip. The attack led to the death and injury of several people, including children and women, in addition to UN employees.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement that this horrific massacre represents the latest confirmation of the occupation's criminal approach and its mockery of the principles of international humanitarian law, renewing in this context Qatar's call for an urgent international investigation that includes sending independent UN investigators to investigate the facts regarding the occupation forces' continued targeting of schools and shelters for the displaced.

The ministry stressed that protecting innocent lives, addressing the catastrophic humanitarian conditions and preserving what remains of the infrastructure in the Gaza Strip requires redoubled regional and international efforts to end the Israeli aggression on the Strip immediately.

The ministry reiterated Qatar's firm position on the justice of the Palestinian cause and the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, including the establishment of their independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
