The Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Toastmasters Club (AMU Alumni TC), part of Area 19 of Division E in Qatar, celebrated its Executive Committee (Excom) installation ceremony during its 83rd meeting recently. The event was attended by Nijas Noor, Division E director and Excom installation officer; Dr Nadeem Jilani, Area 19 director; and Dr Ashna Nusrat, immediate past president, among others.

The newly appointed Excom is led by Dr Mohammed Nayeem, who took the oath of office during the ceremony. In his address, Dr Nayeem thanked Noor for his unwavering support to the installation process and recognised the significant contributions of Dr Jilani and Dr Nusrat in elevating the club’s status to distinguished one.

The newly appointed vice presidents are Mahejabeen Anjum (Education), Irfan Khan (Membership), and Saba Khan (Public Relations). Other members who took their oaths include Rumman Khalid (Secretary), Imaddudin (Treasurer), and Siddique (Sergeant-at-Arms).

The installation ceremony also welcomed several esteemed guests, including Raghu Sankar, president of Galaxy Toastmasters Club; Priya Shembekar, immediate past president of Galaxy Toastmasters Club; and Jithil, immediate past president of Exel Toastmasters Club. Eleven-year-old student guest Hasan joined the participants on this occasion along with his father Abdulrahim.

Toastmasters International, a century-old non-profit organisation, is dedicated to fostering public speaking and leadership skills through a global network of clubs. The AMU Alumni Toastmasters Club operates as one of four divisions of the Aligarh Muslim University Alumni Association Qatar (AMUAAQ) which functions as an associate organisation of the Indian Community Benevolent Forum (ICBF) under the auspices of the Embassy of India in Doha.

The AMUAAQ is committed to promoting the vision and educational ideals of Aligarh Muslim University and its founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. Through a variety of programmes and events, the association aims to strengthen the bonds among alumni and inspire future generations to uphold the values of education and community service.
