Under the patronage of Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, the highly-anticipated ConteQ Expo 24 was inaugurated by Minister of Municipality HE Eng. Abdullah bin Hamad Al Attiyah at the Qatar National Convention Centre on Monday.

This event, which has been highly anticipated locally and internationally for months, was organised jointly by four government entities: the Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI), the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Ministry of Labour, and the Public Works Authority (Ashghal).

It is an innovative platform that showcases the latest trends, innovations and technological means in the construction and services sectors.

The opening ceremony of the three-day exhibition, which will last until September 18, featured the showcasing of the latest technological innovations and trends that will bring about a qualitative shift in the construction and services sectors, in the presence of several ministers and senior economic active figures in the international sector.

The opening ceremony of the event was graced by distinguished guests, including key government officials, industry leaders, and international delegates, marking the commencement of a transformative three-day event that will showcase cutting-edge innovations and research poised to drive significant advancements across various sectors.

Speaking on the occasion, the Minister of Municipality said, "We are pleased to launch ConteQ Expo 24, which is the first of its kind in Qatar, to attract the world’s most important entities starting a new era of innovation in building technology, services and digital transformation, to promote promising partnerships and investments in these important sectors.”

On this occasion, Ashghal President HE Dr Eng. Saad bin Ahmed Al Muhannadi stated, "We are certain that the exhibition will create a positive shift in the journey of digital and technological transformation in the field of construction and services in the State of Qatar.”

He added that modern technology will be included in Ashghal’s current and future projects, starting next October, with the aim of reducing reliance on unskilled labor and replacing it with advanced technology in building construction. As for the modern technology used in infrastructure projects, some modern technologies have been selected and are currently being verified to be suitable for generalization to all projects

The conference agenda is packed with insightful sessions, including a focus on the "Future of Construction Using 3D Printing” and the applications of advanced technology in construction and services. Speakers from Ashghal, Google, and Huawei presented a variety of topics in the pitching area, including the use of artificial intelligence in issuance of contracts and certification, building information BIM as backbone: enabling smooth delivery of digital projects, introducing real estate intelligence, and finally how to build a successful start-up.

The first day of the exhibition saw signing of six agreements between Ashghal and each of Siemens, Viola, Huawei, and EMPA. Mannai Company signed two agreements with Rockwell Automation and Johnson Controls on the first day of the opening of the exhibition.

Featuring more than 60 speakers and 250 exhibitors, the expo is expected to attract over 15,000 visitors, including major global participants like Google, Microsoft, Siemens, Huawei, and IBM.

From start-ups to multinational corporations, visiting ConteQ Expo 2024 promises benefits that extend beyond the event itself. Attendees can engage in workshops, panel discussions, and explore the latest technologies, solutions, and methodologies in modern construction and services.
